The FNE participates in American Bar Association (ABA) meeting | 31 / 03 / 2011
Between March 29th and April 1st, 2011, the National Economic Prosecutor, Mr. Felipe Irarrázabal will participate as invitee to the work “Spring Meeting” held annually by the American Bar Association (ABA) in Washington, D.C.
The FNE signs a Cooperation Agreement with U.S. Competition Authorities | 31 / 03 / 2011
On March 31, 2011, the National Economic Prosecutor,Mr.Irarrázabal, representing the FNE, signed a cooperation agreement with the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission of theU.S., inWashington,D.C.This cooperation agreement will facilitate cooperation between the aforementioned authorities, including cooperation in enforcing competition laws and guaranteeing the collaboration in the detection of antitrust activities and providing technical assistance.
The FNE trains employees from the Servicio de Impuestos Internos (Internal Revenue Service or SII for its Spanish acronym) | 25 / 03 / 2011
As part of its advocacy and promotional activities, representatives from the FNE will conduct today a training workshop for SII employees on “Collusion between Bidders of Public Hiring Bids”. Collusion between competitors (horizontal agreements or cartels) is the characteristic recognized as the most damaging to markets.
The FNE requests the TDLC to issue instructions for the marketing of bundled telecommunications services | 08 / 03 / 2011
On March 3, 2011, the FNE filed a consultation before the TDLC requesting it, on the one hand, to issue general instructions regarding the conditions under which telecommunications operators market bundled services or packs offered to consumers and, on the other, instruct companies that hold market power over services comprised in the pack to enable the opportunity for their resale under wholesale conditions, for the purpose of allowing competitors of said companies to reproduce such bundled offers, in accordance with competition norms.
The FNE opposes operation submitted by Soprole and Nestlé for consultation | 08 / 03 / 2011
On March 4, 2011, the FNE provided background requested by the TDLC regarding the consultation submitted by companies Soprole and Nestlé regarding the concentration operation consisting of the formation of a joint venture whose ultimate purpose would be to produce, market and sell certain dairy liquid and refrigerated dairy products, cheeses, fruit juices and nectars.
