The Department of Justice and the FBI Shared Best Practices with FNE officials

22 / 03 / 2022

The Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) International Corruption Unit, in coordination with the FBI’s Legal Attache Santiago, shared best practices on preparation and execution of raids for the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) today.

Amongst the attendees were professionals from the Anti-Cartel and Litigation divisions of the FNE, as well as representatives from the Financial Market Commission (CMF) and the Public Prosecutor’s office.

The activity aimed to strengthen and perfect the FNE’s knowledge regarding intrusive investigatory measures, which the institution has been empowered to exercise since 2009 and have proven to be a fundamental tool for prosecuting collusion cases.

The activity is part of the collaborative relationship between the FNE, the FBI and the DOJ’s Antitrust Division, by virtue of which various activities have been carried out, including an international workshop on tools and techniques for detecting and prosecuting cartels held in 2019.
